If text is highlighted, then pressing the numeric "-" (that is, the "-" key on the numeric keypad) acts the same as Correct That. Some people find this faster and easier to use than saying Correct That. If you are dictating in front of others, it is also less disconcerting.
The numeric + turns the microphone on/off on full desktop keyboards.
Following are the most common commands besides Scratch That, SELECT and CORRECT:
Go to Bottom of Document -- goes to the end of the document. There are similar commands for moving to the Beginning (Top) or End (Bottom) of the Document, Line, or Paragraph. Try to guess some of these commands and try them.
Delete Previous <number> Words -- to delete errant words
Select Line Delete That -- to delete a line
"Move Up/Down <number> Lines"
"Move Left/Right <number> Words" -- to assist in editing documents. For example, "Move Up 3 Lines", "Move Right 4 Words", ...
There are many other commands - refer to the Quick Reference Card. Most people find a core of 5-10 commands that they use frequently and dont bother learning all the possible commands.
"Select <1To10>" -- selects that numbered possibility from the choice list.
"Choose <1To10>" -- selects that numbered possibility from the choice list, and closes the Correction box.
Clicking on "OK" or pressing the "Enter" key will exit the Correction box when you have completed the correction.
(On laptops, the numeric "-" and "+" are usually a difficult keystroke and using the mouse to turn the microphone on/off is suggested at first. If practical, identify keys such as Pause, Scroll Lock, or a function key and use the Dragon Tools to change the keystrokes/Hot Keys for the correction and microphone on/off functions
In the NaturallySpeaking word processor window click on "Tools" and choose "Options". Click on the "Hotkeys" tab and make the changes you want by clicking on the appropriate button, then pressing the desired hotkey on your keyboard. When you are done making changes click "OK" to finish.
