The webcam locates your face when you start using the ViVo Mouse. Then, it moves the mouse pointer on the screen to follow the motion of your head. Highly-accurate image processing software in the ViVo Mouse can help you gain precise control of mouse pointing.
There are several ways to click with the ViVo Mouse. If you have Dragon Naturally Speaking TM installed, it can be configured so that you click by speaking clicking commands. Dragon is the preferred Speech Recognition program, although ViVo Mouse is compatible with several other Speech Recognition systems as well.
You can also optionally enable “dwell clicking”, which works by automatically making a click when you hold the mouse pointer over an item for a specified period of time. A handy control bar makes double-clicking, right clicks, and drag-and-drop simple. If Speech Recognition is used, you can turn dwell clicking on and off with voice commands.
If you are using Speech Recognition for clicking, ViVo Mouse even has special features that allow you to dwell click if the Speech Recognition program slows down or is inadvertently disabled – a handy feature for complete hands-free control of the computer!
Yes, the ViVo Mouse control window has many settings that can be adjusted for individual preferences, although the factory settings should work well for most people. You can control how fast the pointer moves, the time required for dwell clicking (if enabled), the types of speech-recognition adjustments available, and many others.
In some cases, trial copies of the software will be made available. There is a requirement for a certified webcam which can be separately acquired. A limited number of loaner webcams are available for short-term loan.
